A Young Adult Sci-Fi Shifter Romance.

Trainee observer Zaren was never supposed to set foot on the fifth planet of system 59, let alone have contact with the indigenous population. In fact, any contact is grounds for her immediate dismissal from the program. Zaren has dreamed of being an observer for as long as she can remember, and she knows the rules well. But when her observation vehicle crashes, she finds herself in dire need of help.

Kris has been sent by the Elders of his village on a solo journey into the woods. He needs to choose a single animal to shape-shift into. Only then will he be recognized as a man by his people. Only then will he be allowed to return to care for the last member of his family, his gravely ill sister, Elea.

When Kris finds Zaren fighting for her life, he doesn’t hesitate for a second to save her, even though she’s a stranger, even though he can’t understand her – and even though he risks exile if she discovers he is a shifter.

As they trek through the woods in search of Zaren’s lost shuttle, they learn more than they ought to about each other, and also about themselves. But they will both have to return to their own kind eventually… How will they explain themselves to their people without losing everything? More importantly, what will they do when they have to say goodbye?

Beneath the Twin Moons of Haldae eBook Angela Yseult

This story was interesting as it dealt with the age old question of how much would you be willing to give up for love. While the storyline was not as in depth as I would have liked it to be, there was enough detail to carry the storyline along. The main characters were not as well drawn, for example, why it was so important for Kris to only have one animal form ?
But, overall, it the kind of story that you like to read that didn't require a major commitment. The kind that you could read and guess the ending but would finish anyway.

Beneath the Twin Moons of Haldae eBook Angela Yseult Reviews

I enjoyed the story, more than I expected to. There was a lot of jumping around with the plot though. Sometimes there was no real indicator what time period you are reading about untill reading the first paragraph, which took some getting used to. If you are a reader who doesn't like the back and forth with flash backs and flash forwards, this may not be the read for you. If, however, the changing times does not bother you, this is a fast enjoyable read that has fun characters with an interesting plot that does have a few surprises. I had fun reading it, and will probably revisit it again in the future. A good read!
I already love the new author Angela Yseult and this is only her first book. I was a little confused at first because it does jump back and forth between several pasts and the present. She created an awesome new world of Haldae where Kris, a shapeshifter, lives and Zaren crash lands on this planet. She is an observer from a futuristic society of space explorers. You can see the feelings between them develop while they try to figure out how to communicate with each other. I love this story and my only disappointment was it was over too soon. I will definitely recommend this book to my high school kids who are into sci-fi and shifters. I hope she will continue writing about both Haldae and the futuristic society that Zaren is from, and I will definitely read them )
I received this book from the author to give an honest review.

You if you enjoy a sci-fi in the future with a small amount of the paranormal then you may want to pick this book up.

It was a great read, different than I expected. The time jumping wasn't too bad, but it did take some getting use to. You would either flash forward or flash back, and if that doesn't bother you then get yourself a copy of this book. I found myself wondering what time period I was reading. Also I would have like to have know a little bit more about the disease that was going around, what caused it?

Other than that it was a perfect story, you had a small amount of romance, and a little bit of action. I could easily see this story maybe turning into a series or at least having a book two. As I did wonder if Zaren coming back ended up helping. I would like to see if she was able to help the village.

This is a quick and enjoyable read that deals with shifters and the future.
In an exciting twist with this author, she presents a YA sci-fi romance that incorporates shifters. I know this author under a different pen-name than her more adult titles I was excited to read the first in her new writing adventure. I have a great admiration for her work for the 18+ group, and she has not disappointed in this YA work.

Yseult has managed to transition her skills for crafting relationships that are believable and emotional, with a definition and clarity that is rare in many books geared to this market. Although just a short story, with frequent time line switches that detail the growing relationship between Zaren and Kris to their desire to protect each other after their forbidden encounter and adventure, the story doesn't feel confusing or muddled.

The worlds and their expectations for each in their own community are clearly detailed, and their emotional connection to one another, which dances with the romantic, is only heightened with the sweetly detailed scenes of learning to communicate with one another, sharing words and thoughts as they travel through Haldae together. Of course, there are more chapters in this story yet to be written the author left us with plenty of questions and a huge `what next' that will keep readers hungry for the next installment.

A perfect starter for this series, with intrigue and crafting that will capture the imagination of readers both young and old.

I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.
Full of life and adventures is what I encountered when I read this book. It took me took new world and escape the one I'm living now. Not that mine is bad. Love, true love is worth the risks.
I really liked this story. It stirred my imagination and I would have loved to continue reading as Jaren adjusted to life on this planet.
This was a very nice story about finding love and belonging ,the author kept me reading till the last word,I must say well done and thanks for your hard work.
